Assigning: .TAIPEI domain names are open to everyone.
Syntax: from 3 to 63 alphanumeric characters or a hyphen (excluding in the first, third and fourth, and last place)
IDN (accented domain names): yes
Registration period: 1 to 10 years during general availability, 3 years during TMCH Sunrise and Taipei Enterprises Sunrise, 1 year during Landrush period
Second-level extensions: no
Procedures
Registration:
- TMCH Sunrise: reserved to the owners of a trademark registered with TMCH, the domain name requested must correspond to your trademark,
- Taipei Enterprises Sunrise I (from June 16th to July 6th 2015) : reserved to individuals and legal persons registered and located in Taipei City or New Taipei City, the domain name requested must correspond to your trademark or business/company name registered with Taiwanese Government. Registrations are not available via our interface, please contact our support team
- Taipei Enterprises Sunrise II (from July 7th to July 17th 2015) : reserved to individuals and legal persons registered and located in Taipei City or New Taipei City, the domain name requested must correspond to your trademark or business/company name. Registrations are not available via our interface, please contact our support team
- Landrush: open to anyone. The Landrush period will occur in 4 phases subject to a different pricing decreasing over each phase, as indicated on our interface during your registration request.
Landrush I from July 23rd to July 31st 2015
Landrush II from August 6th to August 14th 2015
Landrush III from August 18th to August 26th 2015
Landrush IV from August 27th to September 2nd 2015.
Renewal: domains are deactivated upon expiration, it is possible to renew up to 45 days following the expiration date
Disputes: URS and UDRP
Transfer (change of Registrar): the process is started on the new registrar's interface with an auth code. Ensure that your domain does not have a TransferProhibited status, does not expire soon, is older than 60 days and has not been transferred in the last 60 days. The effective transfer depends on your validation (by email) and renews the domain name for one year
Change of Ownership: available on our interface, the current procedure consists in email confirmation by both former and new domain name owner. The expiration date is unchanged
Deletion process: quarantine of 30 days, see this table
