Accreditation: Gandi has been accredited for .AF since January 2011.
Terms and Conditions
Assigning : .AF domain names are open to everyone.
Syntax : From 3 to 63 alphanumeric characters or a hyphen (excluding in the first and last place).
IDN (accented domain names) : No.
Registration period : 1 to 5 years.
Second-level extensions : No.
Procedures
Validation: The Registry sends an email with a link in order to activate your domain name. Failing to complete this procedure within the time period given your domain name will be suspended and/or deleted. This validation is required on registration, at the anniversary of registration, at renewal, or when performing an owner change.
Renewal: No later than 2 days before the expiration date.
Disputes: Complaint Resolution Service.
Transfer (change of Registrar): The request is launched from the website of the new registrar. Be sure that the domain's status is not "TransferProhibited", that it does not expire soon and that it has been created/last renewed at least 15 days prior to the request. The transfer must be confirmed within 14 days following your request (by email during the first 7 days then by fax). The transfer renews the domain name for one year.
Change of Ownership: Available on our interface. The procedure consists in email confirmation by both former and new domain name owner. The expiration date remains unchanged.
